Alaska Gold Rush History & Genealogy

Located on the Seward Peninsula York was a station on the coast about thirty miles southeasterly from Wales. In 1900 there was a good sized village here but the gold placers that attracted prospectors did not pan out. York is in the tin region and at present its prospects depended upon the development of the nearby tin properties
