On the Seward Peninsula Wales is situated on Cape Prince of Wales overlooking the Bering Strait. Wales is on the most northwesterly part of the Northern Hemisphere In 1909 there was a post office at Wales but most of the inhabitants of this part of Alaska were Eskimos as the ancient Innuit village of Kingegan is here The discovery of tin in Cape Mountain brought Wales into some prominence.
