Located on the Seward Peninsula. Solomon is situated on the shore
of Bering Sea at the mouth of Solomon River thirty five miles southeasterly
from Nome It is just across the river from Dickson the seaboard
terminal of the Council City and Solomon Railroad a standard gauge
line which was projected between Solomon and Council and constructed
from Solomon thirty two miles and a half to Penelope Creek The
road was in operation since 1902 Solomon had a population of about
100 in 1909.
