He was in the Army Signal Corps and had been previously stationed at Fort
Gibbon and Melozi. He and a partner strung the miles of cable to connect
to Ruby. He later bought the store in Ruby and at some point also had stores
in Kokrines and Poorman. About 1920 he and some business associates brought
in a herd of reindeer along with Lapland herders. They were gone by 1930..
